Sinopse:

Campione é um titulo dado àqueles que podem matar um Deus, podendo usar os poderes divinos que nenhuma mortal poderia utilizar e nem se igualar em poder. Kusanagi Godou é um colegial de 16 anos que era o quarto rebatedor e receptor no time de beisebol do colégio, mas um ferimento acabou encerrando qualquer chance de um futuro promissor no esporte. O garoto viaja para a Sardenha a pedido de seu avô para devolver uma antiga tabuleta de pedra a uma antiga conhecida chamada Lucrecia Zola. Na Sardenha ele acaba conhecendo Erica Blandelli, uma espadachim versada em magia e acaba sendo arrastado junto a ela para o caos resultante de uma disputa entre dois deuses. Em meio a essa crise ele acaba tendo que enfrentar o antigo senhor da guerra persa, Verethragna, em um combate mortal. Após matar o deus, Godou torna-se um Campione, um dos muitos títulos atribuídos a um matador de deuses. Agora ele precisa lidar com os problemas que vem ao receber esse título e que não são nada fáceis.

1 - The First Story

Kusanagi Godou is entrusted with a stone grimiore by his grandfather to deliver to its former owner, an old friend, in Italy where he encounters supernatural happenings. Meeting the beautiful knight, Erica Blandelli, he is drawn into the battle between rogue gods, and uses the power of the grimiore to defeat the Persian god of victory, Verethragna, gaining his powers, becoming a god slayer, also known as a Campione.
